About Me

Hey my friends, my name is Selim Chehimi and I’m an engineering student. I’m 19 years old and I live in Paris, France. I’ve learned how to code at 12 years old because my passion at that time was to create video games. I was really into it and the only thing I wanted to do was to create computer games for the rest of my life. During high school, I was programming 7 days a week (I was never asleep) to build my games.

When I've reached college, however, I’ve lost interest in games and I realized that it's wasn't what I really wanted to do. Honestly, I was disappointed because I didn't know if I really wanted to pursue computer science for 5 years. In fact, 1 week before choosing, I hesitated between CS, Art & design and astrophysics. I wanted to be a physicist because of Interstellar (I've watched plenty of lectures about classical and quantum physics!).

After pondering a lot, I’ve made the decision to pursue computer science because that’s what I loved the most (by the way, I was bad at drawing and I don’t see myself solving quantum equations all my life). In college, I've started to search for my wants and needs. I knew that I wanted to be involved in the Tech Industry but the question was which Technology?

At the beginning, I was planning to get into renewable energy because I fear an environmental catastrophe. Besides, I was hearing a lot about majors’ breakthrough in Artificial Intelligence. As a curious autodidact, I wanted to know more about it. It turns out that the more I learned about it, the more I was interested. The truth is … I’ve always been a big fan of science fiction and I've always found R2-D2 and C-3PO so cool! What interested me the most is by far all the applications of AI (from healthcare to climate change).

I dream of a better future every day. The only thing I want to do now is to help people and to provide value. The best way for me to help them is through Technology (this is where I'm good at). This is the reason why I want to build a Tech Startup and the real reason behind this blog. ("If you want to build a startup, build an audience first"). I hope that you'll enjoy my content. Don't hesitate to follow my journey and to send me a message if you have any question.
